What's collected
If you accept the cookie banner, this site uses Google Analytics 4 to record anonymous usage data — which pages and prints visitors land on, the country they're browsing from, the referring site, the device type, and the broad shape of a visit (entry page, exit page, session duration). IP addresses are anonymised before they're stored. No personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking, no advertising profiles.
If you decline, no analytics tags load and no cookies are set. The site works exactly the same — you just become invisible to me, which is your right.
The contact form on /contact/ sends the name, email, and message you type to my server so I can read and reply. That's the only place personal information enters this site, and it's used to answer the message you sent — nothing else.
Who processes it
Analytics data is processed by Google LLC, on Google's infrastructure, under their privacy policy. Contact-form submissions are processed by my own server and never shared with third parties. Hosting is provided by Vercel Inc.; their privacy policy applies to the bare fact that you visited a page.
Lawful basis
For analytics: your consent, given through the cookie banner, under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and PECR Regulation 6. For the contact form: legitimate interest in answering correspondence, under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f).
How long it's kept
Analytics data: 14 months in Google Analytics, then automatically deleted. Your cookie-banner choice: stored on your device for 12 months, then re-prompted. Contact-form submissions: kept until the conversation has ended, then deleted within a reasonable period.
Change your mind
If you accepted and want to withdraw consent — or declined and want to opt in — you can change your choice at any time:
You can also clear cookies through your browser settings to reset everything.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data I hold about you, restrict or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). For most visitors I hold no personal data at all — analytics is anonymous and the contact form is opt-in.
